Steel case and black dial — the original, definitive Submariner-style configuration. No colour experimentation, no two-tone compromise: the classic combination that started the collector conversation and remains the most universally correct choice in the diver format. As a desk clock at 25 × 38 cm / 9.8 × 15 in, the steel-and-black Submariner configuration is the clean, professional, and quietly authoritative choice for any workspace.
Before the Batman, before the Hulk, before the Pepsi and the Starbucks, there was steel and black. The original Submariner-style configuration: steel case, black rotating bezel, black dial, Mercedes hands. No colour, no compromise — just the clean, precise, authoritative combination that defined what a professional dive watch looked like and has never been bettered. At desk scale, steel and black is still the most professional choice.
Steel and black on the Submariner-style layout is the format's definitive version — the first combination, the one that created collector culture, the one every subsequent configuration is measured against.
Steel and black reads as professional, competent, and authoritative. On a desk it projects exactly the qualities a working space should communicate — without shouting.
Smooth silent sweep quartz. Steel and black is the configuration of focused work — the silent movement ensures nothing distracts from whatever the desk is for.
Premium stainless steel, genuine mineral glass, approximately 1.2 kg / 2.6 lb. The original diver configuration, built to the standard the format demands.
Every configuration in the diver family — Batman, Hulk, Kermit, Starbucks, Pepsi — is a response to the original: steel and black. The coloured bezels came later, each one expanding the format's vocabulary while remaining in conversation with the first version. Steel and black is the reference point: the combination that every subsequent configuration is either continuing or departing from. Knowing this makes the steel-and-black choice read differently — not as the default, but as the deliberate original.
The Sub-Diver Steel Black Desk Clock brings that original configuration to your desk at 25 × 38 cm / 9.8 × 15 in. Approximately 1.2 kg / 2.6 lb, premium stainless steel, genuine mineral glass, silent sweep movement. Backed by Wclocks' 3-year warranty.
